Addiction Recovery

There are many drug and alcohol treatment options available to you, but you must take the first step toward addiction recovery and call our free helpline now. Call 1-866-99-DETOX (1-866-993-3869) and we'll help you find the addiction treatment centers you need to make a successful recovery.

An addiction is a physical, mental and biological dependence on a substance or behavior that persists regardless of any negative effects that may be associated with it. It isn't easy to break an addiction but there are alcohol and drug addiction recovery programs across the nation that can help you overcome your addiction and get you back to your life. Addiction recovery programs will vary in terms of the length and form of the treatment but all programs should include the following:

  • Detox and medical stabilization
  • Rehabilitation
  • Outpatient Care
  • Aftercare

Drug Addiction Recovery – Detox, Rehab and Aftercare

The first stage in any addiction recovery program is detoxification. Detoxification (also known as 'detox') is a process that rids the body of the addicted substance. It stabilizes an individual and eliminates the drugs or alcohol from the person's system.

The next stage in the drug addiction recovery program is rehabilitation where patients will become involved in both individual and group sessions to discuss new ways of dealing with their addiction. Rehab is a therapeutic treatment targeted to help patients build the personal skills that are necessary to fully recover from their addiction.

The final stage is called aftercare where patients will attend support groups and learn daily living skills.

Outpatient vs. Inpatient

Outpatient care is usually available to people with extensive social systems and structured occupations. If the patient demonstrates motivation and responsibility they may be admitted into an outpatient addiction recovery program but most patients don't have this option. In order to ensure the prevention of a future relapse most patients in an addiction recovery program will be required to attend an inpatient program several times a week for about three hours a day.

Take the first step towards your addiction recovery and call our toll-free helpline at 1-866-99-DETOX (1-866-993-3869). Addiction treatment professionals are available 24/7, and all calls are confidential.
